Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, are facing a lawsuit accusing them of misleading investors about the condition of their mental health company, Wondermind.

Two companies, Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, are suing Gomez, Teefey, Wondermind Global and former business partner Daniella Pierson. The plaintiffs claim they invested more than $1 million after receiving misleading information about the company’s leadership, resources and ability to become profitable.

The lawsuit alleges Gomez’s public promotion of Wondermind helped convince the companies to invest. Investors claim they believed the singer and actress would remain actively involved in the business but allege her involvement was much more limited after their investment.

These are allegations contained in a lawsuit and have not been proven in court.

Wondermind was founded by Gomez, Teefey and Pierson as a mental health and wellness platform. The company’s own website continues to identify Gomez and Teefey as co-founders and Teefey as CEO.

Questions about Wondermind’s finances surfaced before the lawsuit.

In May 2025, Forbes reported that the company had experienced serious cash-flow problems and missed employee payroll. Teefey reportedly told employees she took out a loan against her home to help cover the company’s debts. Wondermind later said it was addressing the problems.

A September 2025 investigation by The Cut subsequently detailed turmoil inside the company, including allegations concerning its management and workplace. Teefey denied allegations about substance use and disputed former employees’ descriptions of conditions at Wondermind.

According to TMZ, the investors allege they did not learn the full extent of Wondermind’s problems until The Cut investigation appeared. They are now seeking the return of their investments and additional unspecified damages while alleging securities fraud.

The lawsuit could now put greater scrutiny on what Gomez, Teefey and other Wondermind executives told investors while the company was experiencing financial and management problems.
